The University of Utah softball team concludes its five-game homestand versus Idaho State and continues its Pac-12 Conference slate on the road this week at No. 1 UCLA. The Utes take on Idaho State in non-conference action Wednesday at 5 p.m. MT at Utah Softball Stadium. Utah then heads to Los Angeles for a three-game series at No. 1 UCLA this weekend in Westwood's Easton Stadium.
Game one will be Friday at 7 p.m. PT before the middle game on Saturday at 6 p.m. PT and Sunday's finale at 12 p.m. PT.
The Utes are 11-12 overall with a 1-3 mark in Pac-12 play and currently find themselves on a three-game losing skid.
The Bengals are 18-11 after winning at Utah Valley on Mar. 25 and taking two out of three games over Portland State in their Big Sky Conference opening series in Portland.
The top-ranked Bruins are 28-2 overall and 5-1 in Pac-12 play after taking two out of three games at No. 5 Washington last weekend in Seattle.

Utes Turn Two: After leading the Pac-12 and finishing second in the nation in double plays in 2013, the Utes are back at it this season. Utah's defense once again leads the Pac-12 this season after converting 19 double plays through 20 games. The Utes turned a pair of 1-6-3 double plays in the series opener against the Ducks.
All For Flippen: Flippen hit .615 in four games last week for the Utes with five runs scored, four doubles and two RBI against BYU and Oregon. Flippen posted a game-high two hits in four at-bats in the Mar. 20 1-0 win against BYU. She laid down a bunt single in the third frame before hitting a double to right field in the ninth to set up the Utes' walk-off hit. Flippen is seventh with a .432 batting average and has posted two or more hits in 11 different games this season, which has her tied with Dickman for team-high honors in 2014. Flippen is now second on the team with 35 hits this season. Flippen is currently on a nine-game hit streak and now has driven in 15 runs in this season and six games with multiple RBI.
Nieto Pitches In: Utah sophomore pitcher Kayce Nieto (Farmington Hills, Mich.) threw nine shutout innings on Mar. 20 against BYU and only gave four hits to the Cougars. She has thrown four complete games in 2014 with a pair of complete-game shutouts. Nieto is eighth in the Pac-12 with a team-high mark of 78.1 innings pitched.
Kate Comes Up Clutch: Dickman is fifth in the Pac-12 in the latest statistical rankings and currently holds a .446 batting average through 23 games. The 2013 Pac-12 All-Conference Second Team selection leads the team with 11 extra-base hits (seven doubles, two triples and two home runs) and is second on the squad with 20 runs scored and 16 RBI. She leads the team and ranks 10th in the Pac-12 with 37 hits.
Urtez Drives in Runs: Freshman shortstop Anissa Urtez (Long Beach, Calif.) currently owns team-high honors with 22 RBI this season. Urtez doubled to right field in the fifth frame on Mar. 24 against Oregon, which was her team-high 22nd RBI of the year. On Mar. 23 against Oregon, Urtez came up a home run shy of the cycle as she posted three hits in four at-bats with a three-run triple in the first, a double in the fourth and a single in the sixth.
