SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah senior first baseman Sandy Rhea was named first-team all-West Region on Wednesday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. It is the third-consecutive year Rhea has been a first-team all-region selection. The Louisville Slugger NFCA All-America team will be announced next week. Rhea earned first-team All-America honors in 1997.

Rhea, a native of South Jordan, Utah, ranks 18th in the nation in stolen bases this season with 34 in 35 attempts. She is eighth all-time in the NCAA in career stolen bases with 130. Rhea was named first-team all-WAC for a third-consecutive year on Tuesday. Rhea led the WAC with 34 stolen bases. She was also eighth in hitting (.372), fifth in runs (49), sixth in doubles (11) and sixth in hits (67).
