Jacob Jensen is in his first season as the assistant coach for the Utah women's tennis team. He is a USPTA certified tennis instructor and currently is the Director of Junior Tennis at the Salt Lake Swimming and Tennis Club. He has worked for several years as a teaching professional, both in Salt Lake City and in Southern California, where he has hit with some of the country's leading junior players.
Beginning his collegiate tennis career on the East coast at Central Connecticut State University of the Northeast Conference, Jensen moved into the No.1 singles spot as a freshman. He finished his tennis career at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, Calif., where his team qualified for the NCAA regional championships. Jensen was named an ITA Scholar Athlete for two years during his collegiate career.
Jensen was a ranked junior in the state of Utah and in the Intermountain area. He was a finalist at No.1 singles in the Boys 4-A State Tennis Championships and was named a KSL-TV/Coca-Cola Prep Athlete of the Week. He was named Academic All- State in tennis and was a member of Team Utah.
Jensen graduated top of his class from California Lutheran University with a double major in English and French and plans to attend graduate school in addition to continuing to coach and teach tennis. He looks forward to working with the women's tennis team and helping team members to achieve their potential.
In his spare time, Jensen enjoys playing the piano and traveling to warm places to play tennis.
