Luisa Gerstner Da Rosa advanced along with Sarah Richter in the doubles invitational tournament

OJAI, Calif. - Utah women's tennis advanced two doubles teams to the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Championships this afternoon and the pairing of Sarah Richter and Luisa Gerstner Da Rosamoved on to the semifinals in the invitational tournament.
Tereza Bekerova and Paige Miles, the lone doubles team representing Utah in the championship tournament, pulled the biggest upset in the round of 16, topping No. 2-seed Maegan Manasse and Denise Starr of Cal, 8-6. They moved on to the quarterfinals but were knocked off by Kaitlyn Christian and Giuliana Olmos of USC, 8-1.
Callie Craig and Sarah Pham, the No 1 seed in the invitational tournament, lost to USC's pairing of Gabriella DeSimone and Zoe Katz, 8-6, in the first match of the day. Craig and Pham reached the semifinals of the invitational tournament last season before bowing out.
Utah improved to 2-1 in the round of 16 as the No. 2-seeded duo of Da Rosa and Richter rolled through Lena Macomson and Maja Salibasic of Oregon, 8-2, to reach the quarterfinals. Richter and Da Rosa advanced to the semifinals in the afternoon with a doubling up of Arizona's duo of Akilah James and Susan McRann, 8-4.
Gerstner and Da Rose will play tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. PT against the No. 3-seeded pairing of Brynn Boren and Zoe Scandalis for USC.
