OJAI, Calif.- The 40th-ranked University of Utah women's tennis completed the second day of play at the Pac-12 Championships Friday, in Ojai, Calif.
The freshmen duo of Danielle Flores and Natasha Smith defeated the team of Alice Duranteau and Cecelia Estlander of California 8-6 in the first round to advance at the Pac-12 Women's Doubles Invitational. Flores and Smith face top-seeded Hailey Johnson and Sarah Landsman of Arizona at 8 a.m. PT in the quarterfinals Saturday.
In Pac-12 Women's Singles Invitational action, Smith notched a 7-5, 5-7, 6-3, win over Arizona's Susan McRann in the second round, before falling to eighth-seeded Leighann Sahagun in the quarterfinals.
