POCATELLO, Idaho-University of Utah senior transfer Anna Svendenhov won the Idaho State Invitational singles title and teamed with Linda Engblom for the doubles title, this weekend. Svendenhov defeated Engblom in the singles championship 6-4, 6-3. Utah completely dominated the tournament by claiming all four semifinal births. Angie Olson lost to Engblom 6-0, 6-2 in one semifinal and Megan Payne fell to Svendenhov 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the other. In doubles, Utah continued its dominance as Svendenhov and Engblom defeated another Ute squad in Payne and Olson, 8-4. The doubles semifinals positions were also all taken by the Utes, as Svendenhov and Engblom had to defeat the Ute freshman tandem of Linda Petersson and Heidi Thomas to reach the finals and Payne and Olson defeated Utah's team of Rebecca Foulger and Molly Sanderson to advance. Sanderson also took home the consolation bracket crown by defeating Utah's Petersson, in the final. Utah was joined in the tournament by teams from Boise State, Weber State, Montana and host Idaho State.
