Utah Loses to No. 2 UCLA 7-2

LOS ANGELES - The Utah women's tennis team lost to No. 2 ranked UCLA, 7-2 in California. Linda Engblom was the only Ute to win in singles for Utah. She upset No. 71 ranked Cristina Popescu 7-5 in the first and Popescu retired in the second.

Utah's only other team point came as the Bruins' No. 3 doubles team also retired and defaulted.

The toughest loss for the Utes came as sophomore Megan Payne fell in a hard fought three set match to No. 97 ranked Elizabeth Schmidt 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
