BYU Cougars
The Cougars saw their only loss of the season at No. 67 UNLV, 5-2, but strung together a four-match winning streak to start the season. BYU is most recently coming off a 5-2 victory over Iowa State on the road. Four Courgars have compiled a nearly perfect 5-1 record in dual-match singles play, but the squad is 2-4overall at the No. 1 singles position, a .333 winning percentage. Two of BYU doubles duos at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots are undefeated and currently hold perfect 6-0 records.

Last Time against BYU
The Utes topped the Cougars last season 5-2 at the Eccles Tennis Center. After Utah captured the doubles point, sophomore Lucia Kovarcikova earned the match-clinching point for the Utes at 4-2 in a tight three-set thriller at the No. 5 singles spot over Aubrey Paul 1-6, 7-5, 6-4.

  • Four Utes currently hold nearly perfect records in singles play. Juniors Callie Craig and Paige Miles are 5-1 overall, while junior Sarah Pham and Bekerova are 4-1 overall.
  • In singles play, Utah has tallied a .833 winning percentage at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots, and in doubles, at the Nos. 1 and 3 positions.
  • Despite capturing two wins last weekend, Utah dropped out of the team national rankings. However, sophomore Tereza Bekerova moved to No. 79 in singles rankings while she and junior Paige Miles dropped to No. 17 in doubles rankings.

    The Utes are coming off a winning home-opening weekend. Utah netted a 5-2 victory over Boise State in its first home match of the season Saturday, then followed with a 7-0 sweep of New Mexico Sunday.
