No. 35 Utes Head to No. 38 Washington State for First Pac-12 Road Match...
The 35th-ranked University of Utah women's tennis team (8-7, 0-4 Pac-12) travels to 38th-ranked Washington State (12-5, 2-3 Pac-12) this weekend for its first Pac-12 Conference road match.
"We are looking forward to going to Pullman and playing the Cougars this weekend," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "Over the past four years we have played many close matches against them and managed to come out on the better side of it for the most part and we hope that continues this weekend."

Scouting No. 38 Washington State...
The Cougars dropped a 7-0 decision to 10th-ranked California last weekend in Berkeley, Calif.
Last week Washington State entered the ITA national rankings after notching back to back upsets at home over Pac-12 teams, defeating 26th-ranked Arizona 6-1, before besting 27th-ranked Arizona State, 5-2.
Washington State junior Liudmila Vasilieva is currently ranked No. 43 in the ITA singles rankings. Senior Elisabeth Fournier has earned Bank of the West Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors twice this year for the weeks of Jan. 23-29 and March 12-18.
The Cougars take on Portland Thursday and Pac-12 team Colorado Friday, before facing the Utes Sunday.
Last year against the Cougars...
Last year Utah captured a 5-2 win over Washington State at the Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City. After dropping the doubles point, the Utes went 5-1 in singles for the win.
Senior Anastasia Putilina earned the match-clinching point for Utah by defeating Vasilieva at the No. 1 singles spot. Adding singles points for Utah were sophomores Sarah Pham and Lucia Kovarcikova, junior Paige Miles and former Ute Evgenia Kryuchkova.
Last Time Out...
Utah dropped a pair of home conferences matches to top 5-ranked opponents last weekend, falling to third-ranked USC, 7-0 and top-ranked UCLA, 6-1. Sophomore Callie Craig earned the Utes' point against the Bruins by upsetting 119th-ranked Pamela Montez 5-7, 6-3, 14-12, at the No. 3 singles spot.
Utah is 3-1 against Washington State under head coach Iandolo...Pham has notched five upsets over ranked opponents this year, while Craig has netted three... Kovarcikova and freshman Danielle Flores have both captured three match-clinching points for the Utes, while Putilina and Craig have each secured one...Utah is 2-1 in road matches this year.
