SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's tennis team kicks off its fall season this weekend at the Wolverine Invitational. The tournament will be held at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Mich., and hosted by the University of Michigan. Juniors Sarah Pham, Callie Craig, and Elena Najera-Salas, as well as sophomores Tereza Bekerova and Natasha Smith are slated to participate in the tournament.

Action will begin Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. and at 9 a.m. Sunday. Each team will play three rounds of singles and three rounds of doubles. There will be up to eight flights in singles and four flights in doubles per match-up. Points will be allotted for each win based on the following decreasing point value to determine the singles and doubles champions at the end of the weekend.

The Utes will first face Iowa in doubles at 10 a.m. Friday, followed by a singles match against Georgia not before 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Utah takes on Pac-12 conference foe Arizona State at 10 a.m., then will compete against Florida in singles play not before 11:30 a.m. Finally, the Utes will duel Georgia in doubles play Sunday at 9 a.m. followed by Iowa in singles play.
