Daniel Jones completed his fourth season on the Ute staff and his second as the Director of Volleyball Operations in 2013. During the 2010 and 2011 seasons, Jones served as the program's Video and Statistics Coordinator.
In May of 2011, Jones served as a second assistant coach and technical adviser for the USA A2 Development Program at the USA Open Nationals in Dallas.
Prior to his appointment at Utah, Jones volunteered at Utah Valley during the 2009 season.
A native of Christchurch, New Zealand, Jones was an assistant coach at Avondale College where he helped guide them to the 2003 national championship before taking over the head coaching position and a third-place finish in 2006.
Jones coached Gold Medal Squared Camps across the country during the summer months for four years and spent the winters playing and coaching in London, England.
Jones graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Education degree, specializing in Physical Education. He married his wife, Lacee (Koeliker), in the summer of 2012. She is an assistant coach at Utah Valley University.
