Ute outside hitters Morgan Odale and Chelsey Schofield of the Utah Volleyball team began training this week with the 2013 U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team A2 Program at the University of Texas-Dallas in preparation for the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships, which will be held June 28 through July 3 at the Dallas Convention Center.
From USA Volleyball:
The WNTA2 program, open to college athletes with eligibility remaining for the 2013 season, was selected through the 2013 U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team Open Tryouts held Feb. 22-24 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The tryout attracted a record 240 participants, 33 more than the previous attendance record set in 2012.
The 47 players will participate in a four-day training camp at the University of Texas-Dallas before dividing into four equal teams and relocating to the Dallas Convention Center for a five-day competition block.
The 2013 WNTA2 program has athlete representation from 29 different universities, and 12 schools had multiple players selected.
During their nine days in Dallas, the WNTA2 athletes will be going social. Check out the #WNTA2 hash tag on Twitter to see their photos, results and event updates.
