Women's National A2 Program Tournament Continues Pool Play
Utah outside hitters Morgan Odale and Chelsey Schofield both put up impressive performances during the first day of pool play with their respective USA Volleyball A2 Program teams during the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships at the Dallas Convention Center.
With double-doubles in her first two matches, Schofield totaled 29 digs and 24 kills between the first two matches of the competition. She had 14 digs and 10 kills to help the Red team to a five-set victory over the White squad ((27-25, 18-25, 18-25, 23-25, 15-12). She then posted 15 digs and 14 kills for her second straight double-double during a five-set loss to the Blue team (23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 11-15).
Odale came up with a solid all-around game with 19 digs, 16 kills, two blocks and a service ace. In her first match against the Blue squad, a five-set victory (23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 11-15), Odale totaled 10 kills and six digs. The Star, Idaho native also had 14 digs in six kills in a four-set affair against the White team.

All four squads competing in the 2013 U.S. Women's National Volleyball A2 Program (WNTA2) head into the final day of pool play tomorrow with 1-1 records after Team Blue defeated Team Red in five sets and Team White defeated Team Gold in four sets on Sunday in Dallas.
At the conclusion of pool play, the four teams will be seeded for the July 2-3 playoff matches.
On July 2, the semifinal matches will feature the first-place team in pool versus the fourth-place team and the second-place team versus the third-place team.
On July 3, the winners of the semifinal matches will face off for gold, while the losers will battle for bronze.
