The Match: After an exciting five-set victory over Arizona State on Thursday night, the University of Utah volleyball team is back at it this afternoon in the Huntsman Center against No. 25 Arizona.
The Utes have won three of their last four matches to improve to 16-5 overall and are 5-4 in Pac-12 Conference play with a 6-3 mark in home matches.
About Thursday Night: Utah defeated Arizona State in a five-set thriller (25-23, 22-25, 24-26, 25-22, 15-9) on Thursday thanks to a dominant performance in the fifth set.
Five players were in double-digit kills and Utah outhit ASU .267-.184 in the match for the win, and held a 17.5-9.0 advantage in blocks on the night.
Dalton Doubles Up: Junior right-side hitter Shelby Dalton (Moab, Utah) has had eight double-digit-kill matches in Utah's last 12 contests. Dalton has a total of 12 such performances this season and 20 over her career.
This season, Dalton leads the team with 2.68 kills per set and remains second on the squad with a .306 hitting percentage (minimum five kills).
She is also third on the team with 1.11 blocks per set.
Dalton has 562 career kills on a .262 hitting percentage to go with 286 total blocks from her right-side hitter post.
Mauling Morgan: Senior outside hitter Morgan Odale (Star, Idaho) had a career-high 26 digs and pounded 11 kills on Thursday against ASU. Odale has nine matches with 10 or more kills this season and 62 over her career to go with 10 double-digit-dig efforts in 2013 and 46 during her career.
Odale is just the third player in school history to belong to three different milestone clubs. She is eighth in school history with 1,207 career kills, which is 29 away from tying Lori Baird (1,236 from 2005-08) for seventh place on the list.
