SALT LAKE CITY - Outside hitters Adora Anae, Eliza Katoa and Emma Kirst have each signed National Letters of Intent to join the University of Utah volleyball team for the 2014 season, head coach Beth Launiere announced.

"All of these players bring a high level of athleticism and volleyball experience to our program," Launiere said. "All three are talented and have the ability to make an impact not only on our program, but in the Pac-12 Conference as well."

(OH / 6-1 / Laie, Hawaii / Kahuku HS / Imi'Ike Volleyball Club)

No. 79 on PrepVolleyball.com's Senior Ace list ... led Kahuku High School to Oahu Interscholastic Association championship as a junior ... OIA First-team All-Star in 2012 ... seventh pick in the all-state top 15 in 2012 ... OIA All-Star Second Team in 2011 ... made all-state honorable mention list as a sophomore in 2011 ... also was a guard on the basketball team ... goalkeeper for soccer team that finished second in stats and won conference ... ran long distance and participated in long and triple jumps for track & field team ... intends to study nursing.

Launiere on Anae: "Adora is a smooth athlete who is a six-rotation player. As a 6-1 passing outside hitter, her great feel for the game allows her to do many things on the court. She has played volleyball at a high level in Hawaii and will be a great asset to our program."

PrepVolleyball.com Senior Ace Top 150 selection ... first-team all-state selection during sophomore and junior years with 2013 announcements pending ... first-team all-region each of the last two seasons as well ... honorable mention all-state and second-team all-region as a freshman ... owns record high for kills in a match: 41 against undefeated Fremont High School on Oct. 8, 2013 ... named Layton High School's Best Offensive Player in 2013 ... team captain in 2012 and 2013 ... currently nominated as a candidate for Utah's 2013 Gatorade Player of the Year ... had 403 kills, 37 solo blocks, 28 block assists, 40 digs and 31 aces in 2012 despite missing second half of season after sustaining injury ... as a sophomore in 2011, had 482 kills, 39 solo blocks, 57 block assists, 218 digs and 57 aces (which was fifth in the state) ... 276 kills, 15 solo blocks, 40 block assists, 35 aces and 191 digs as a freshman in 2010 ... will enroll at the University of Utah during the Spring 2014 semester.

Launiere on Katoa: "Eliza is a phenomenal athlete who is quick, strong and has a great vertical jump. She is a great competitor with high energy and has a positive effect on people around her."

PrepVolleyball.com Senior Ace Top 150 selection ... named to the Nevada All-State Academic Team ... earned the Scholar-Athlete award ... 581 career kills (2.4 kps) with a .354 career hitting percentage at Bishop Gorman High School ... hit .415 during her senior year ... had 100 career aces with 72 alone in 2012 ... earned certificates of honor in biology and French ... also participated in theater ... co-founder of Teens Kickin' Cancer community service organization ... intends to major in sports medicine.

Launiere on Kirst: "Emma is a talented player with great size and length. She has a very natural arm swing and touch on the ball that is impressive for her size. She has a tremendous amount of potential that will develop into a quality player at this level."
