On the other side of the bracket, LIU Brooklyn will face host and No. 2 national seed Penn State on Fri., Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The second-round match will be held on Sat., Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
This is Utah's first time in the tournament since 2008 and the 11th time in school history. All 11 trips have come since 1998.The Utes were 26th in the NCAA's latest RPI rankings with a 20-12 overall record and a 9-11 mark in Pac-12 Conference play, which put them tied with Colorado for seventh in the league standings. This was also Utah's first season with 20 or more wins since 2008 and the 14th under Ute head coach Beth Launiere.
Ticket Information: All-session tickets for the 2013 NCAA Tournament first and second rounds at Penn State are on sale now and priced at $12 for adults and $10 for students and youth ages 12 and under. Fans can purchase tickets online at psusports.com or by calling 1-800 -NITTANY.
Single-match tickets will only be sold at the door the night of each match. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and youth ages 12 and under. Doors will open at 4 p.m. ET Friday, Dec. 6 and 6 p.m. ET Saturday, Dec. 7.

Last Time in the NCAA Tournament: Utah's last NCAA Tournament action saw the Utes advance to the Sweet 16 for the second time in school history. Utah traveled to Clemson, S.C., where it swept both Furman and the homestanding Clemson Tigers, before bowing out to Washington in Seattle in the regional semifinal.
Efficiency Pays Off: Utah is 20-2 this season when posting a higher hitting percentage than its opponents. The only matches where the Utes did not come away with a win in this scenario was when they outhit No. 3 Washington on Nov. 1 and Colorado on Nov. 27.
Getting Defensive: Utah has forced 18 of its opponents this season to hit under .200. Ute foes have combined to hit .187, which is fifth in the latest Pac-12 stats.
Utes on the Block: Utah is second in the conference with 2.89 blocks per set and the Utes were ranked ninth in the latest NCAA statistics. Utah has outblocked its opponents 24 times through 32 matches this season. The Utes are 20-4 when outblocking their opponents in 2013.
Pac-12 Progression: Nine wins in Pac-12 play this season is the most for the Utah program since joining the conference in 2011. The Utes are 20-42 all-time in Pac-12 play with a 9-11 mark this season and going 6-16 in 2011 and 5-15 in 2012. The Utes' all-time record in conference play stands at 293-241 (.548), while Launiere is 211-151 (.583) against conference foes.
Morgan Maxes Out: Senior outside hitter Morgan Odale (Star, Idaho) has 13 matches with 10 or more kills this season and 65 over her career. This season, Odale is turning in 2.78 digs and 2.30 kills per set and has served 23 aces. Odale is third in school history with 1,308 career kills and has 1,179 career digs, which is fifth in school history. She is currently 37 away from tying Julie Kirby (1,216 from 1991-94) for fourth place in Utah history. Her 119 career aces is also the sixth-most in school history and is nine away from tying Brooke Barton (128 from 1996-2000) for fifth.
Bragging on (Redd) Brandon: Senior middle blocker Erin Redd-Brandon (Spanish Fork, Utah) is second in the Pac-12 and 17th in the latest NCAA in blocking with 1.40 blocks per set. She also leads the team with a .318 hitting percentage and is third on the squad with 2.33 kills per set this season. In the league-only stats, Redd-Brandon is sixth with 1.33 blocks per set against Pac-12 opponents and is hitting for a team-high .304 percentage against league opponents. Redd-Brandon is fourth in school history in both career total blocks (566) and career block assists (534). As the 14th member of Utah's 1,000-kill club, Redd-Brandon's 1,111 career kills stands 10th in school history. Redd-Brandon is six away from passing Karolina Bartkowiak (1,115 from 2007-10) for ninth on the all-time list.
Schofield For 1,000: Junior outside hitter Chelsey Schofield (Provo, Utah) is just five kills away from becoming the third Ute this season to join the school's 1,000-kill club. She also has 956 career digs.
Dominant Dalton: Junior right-side hitter Shelby Dalton (Moab, Utah) has hit a team-high 2.68 kills per set on a .284 hitting percentage this season, which is second on the squad (minimum 75 attack attempts). She is also third on the Utah roster with 1.12 blocks per set this season.
