2014 Utah Volleyball Final Season Notes


The Utah Utes went 20-13 overall and closed out the 2014 campaign ranked No. 18 in the final AVCA Poll, which was released on Monday, Dec. 22. The Utes finish the season ranked inside the AVCA Top-25 for the seventh time in school history and for the first time since 2008 when the squad finished ranked No. 16 overall.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Utah Utes capped off its best volleyball season in the Pac-12 era by finishing the 2014 campaign ranked No. 18 in the nation overall, as the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll was released late Monday afternoon.

Bateman Earns AVCA Regional Honors


The 2014 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I All-Region awards were announced Tuesday and Utah senior middle blocker Bailey Bateman was named All-Pacific South Region Honorable Mention.

No. 20 Utes Fall to No. 11 Huskers in Second Round


The No. 20 Utah volleyball team battled back from a 2-0 deficit to No. 11 Nebraska, but the Cornhuskers (22-9) managed to overcome the back-to-back losses in sets three and four to defeat the Utes (20-13) in five sets (23-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-17, 11-15) in second round action of the 2014 Women's Volleyball Championship Saturday evening at Devaney Center in Lincoln.

Utes to Face Cornhuskers in Second Round Action Today


The Utah Utes will face No. 11-ranked Nebraska in the second round of the NCAA Championship Tournament tonight in Lincoln, Neb. First serve between the Utes and Cornhuskers is set for 7 p.m. (CST) at the Devaney Sports Center.
